Caisteal Liath Guesthouse stands in an elevated position with stunning sea-loch and majestic mountain views in the quiet, crofting, community of Baddidarrach, which translates from the gaelic to mean ‘a cluster of oaks’.

Nestling in a private setting on the northern side of Lochinver bay and en-route for the NC500, yet close enough to all of the local amenities that the village has to offer.

Suilven has stunning views from a double aspect window of the harbour and of the majestic mountains beyond. It has a 5’ king size double bed with sprung mattress, white percale cotton bedding, duvet and pillows, bedside cabinets, bedside lamps, dressing table and stool, chest of drawers and a cupboard with plenty of clothes/luggage storage space. Added touches to the room include a mini fridge, 32” flat screen TV, small sofa, dining table and chairs, welcome tea tray, wine glasses, cotton buds/pads, tissues and a hairdryer. Wi-fi.

The en-suite shower-room has a large walk-in shower, bidet, w.c., wash hand basin and electric shaver point. Fluffy towels, bath mat and Cole and Lewis toiletries are provided.

Canisp has views looking east facing towards the mountain of Quinaig. It has a 5’ king size double bed with sprung mattress, white percale cotton bedding, duvet and pillows, bedside cabinets, bedside lamps, dressing table and stool, a mirrored double wardrobe with plenty of clothes/luggage storage space. Added touches to the room include a mini fridge, smart TV, occasional chairs, dining table and chairs, welcome tea tray, wine glasses, cotton buds/pads, tissues and a hairdryer. Wi-fi. Fluffy towels, bath mat and Cole & Lewis toiletries are all provided.

Quinaig has views looking east facing towards the mountain of Quinaig. The en-suite bathroom has a shower over a Jacuzzi bath, w.c., wash hand basin and an electric shaver point. Fluffy towels, bath mat and Cole & Lewis toiletries are all provided.

Breakfast is a continental style buffet breakfast for you to help yourselves to.  

On the landing is a buffet sideboard with a selection of what’s on offer and some items will already be inside your mini fridge when you arrive. There is no dining room, but table and chairs are provided in each bedroom for you to sit at and enjoy your breakfast whist admiring the stunning Highland scenery.

There is a selection of cereals, muesli, granola, porridge pots, fruit, fruit juice, natural yogurt, fruit yogurt, breads, oatcakes, croissants and pastries. Speciality teas, coffee, jams, marmalade and honey

There is a toaster and egg cooker on the sideboard for you to use should you wish to have toast or boiled eggs and a selection of cheese and ham.

There are some gluten free options but please let us know if you require specific requirements and we will do out best to meet them.

Arrival/Departure times are from 4pm-8pm in the evening and departure times are from any time in the morning, but requested no later than 10am.

New for 2023 is an outdoor Jacuzzi hot tub on the terrace. It is in a secluded location at the side of the guesthouse with views looking out across the bay, the village and the mountains and it is perfect for chilling out in, at the end of the day. Accommodates up to 6 persons and is available to hire.
